Our Journey Begins: Fat Matt's Rib Shack (Morningside/Lenox Park)

Toddler Foodie Rating: 4 out of 5 Gummy Bears

:) = Delicious food.  Live music.  Attentive service.  An Atlanta classic.

:( = Small space.  Gets really crowded.  Restrooms are not great and don't have changing tables - prepare to change diapers in your car if an incident arises during the meal.

We have a saying at home:  "The best type of meat is meat on the BONE!"  With this mantra buried deep in our hearts, we decided to start our career as foodies at an Atlanta landmark, Fat Matt's Rib Shack. Mommy always tells us that this place is famous and that if she gets Daddy a To Go box from here, he won't complain about taking out the trash for at least a week.  After we tasted the food here, we understood why.

The meat was on the bone, but basically melted off of it - right into our hungry little mouths.

The sauce was perfect.  Just the right amount of tanginess and sweetness.  We didn't mind the mess - and the servers were nice enough to bring us extra wet wipes.

Our favorite part of the meal was the sides.  We had macaroni & cheese and rum baked beans.  We are toddlers, so of course we never turn down mac & cheese.  This mac & cheese was special, though.  It wasn't shaped like Ninja Turtles, and the cheese was real cheese that actually clung to and wound around our forks in gooey orange strings!  We loved the rum baked beans, too.  Mommy said she'll tell us what rum is when we're 21 and have jobs.

Until next time, food enthusiasts!

Enjoying the rib & chicken combo with baked beans and macaroni & cheese.
