Toddlers Can Be Foodies, Too!

We're the Pham Brothers.  We are little humans, all of three (41 months, to be exact) and two (27 months, to be exact) years old.  To kick off 2015, our mommy made a big decision that would change our lives forever... She decided to turn us into foodies.

Now, I know what you're thinking:  how can TODDLERS be foodies?  Don't toddlers only eat chicken nuggets, grilled cheese sandwiches, and buttered noodles?  Don't they have all kinds of precautionary food restrictions imposed upon them, such as no spices, no undercooked food, and no tree nuts within 100 feet of their bodies?  Aren't toddlers banned from most foodie-worthy restaurants?!

The answer to these questions is yes, in some cases.  But, in our case, the world is one big buffet - and we are here to consume it, tree nuts and all, provided that restaurants will welcome us inside.

So here we are, at the start of our journey.  Our mission is to try one new restaurant and at least one new type of food every week - and tell you about our experiences.  We'll rate restaurants using our proprietary Gummy Bear Rating scale.  And we will include photos (but can't promise they will be pretty or artistic... we tend to be messy eaters).  You can follow our adventures here or on Instagram @toddlerfoodiesatl.

Happy eating!

Slurping taro smoothies at Sweet Hut in Midtown ATL, 935 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.
Sweet Hut is a local favorite for Asian pastries, bubble teas, snacks, & small plates.
Toddler Foodie Rating: 4 out of 5 Gummy Bears
:) = Yummy food and drinks to eat and look at, great people-watching at the Midtown location, cafe will validate the 1st hour of parking
:( = Yummy pastries that are easily within a toddler's reach... parents beware!

  1. YES! I'm totally with you. We took Leo to Nam Phuong on Sunday (Buford Highway) and couldn't get him to STOP eating. I'm eager to follow along on your journey! Please post your new posts to Facebook just in case I miss them here on the blog.

    1. Nam Phuong is one of our favorites, too! We love the Bun Hoi because it's so interactive... okay, and maybe a little bit messy. :)

We'd be happy to notify everyone on FB periodically when we post interesting reviews (we're planning to review 3 restaurants per week and don't want to inundate the page with our posts); but feel free to sign up for email updates, too, using the Email Address field at the left-hand side of the blog. And let us know if you and Leo have any favorite restaurants that you'd like to see us feature on the blog. We love getting recommendations.
